Visiting times and guidelines for visitors
All visitors to patient areas should report to the nurses’ station prior to entering the patient bed areas. This is to enhance security in the wards and to improve communication with visitors.
For the benefit of nearby patients, visitors will be restricted to a maximum of three per patient. Visitors should not visit for long periods – short visits are less tiring for patients.
Visiting times are from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm on all wards with the following exceptions:
- The maternity inpatients ward visiting times are 8am-8pm for partners and 2pm-4pm or 6pm-8pm for other visitors (plus siblings). Children, other than siblings, under the age of 14 are not permitted onto the ward.
Please note that these times apply to ward areas only. On delivery unit and the midwife-led unit, only birth partners are allowed, and we welcome them at any time.
- Amazon Ward operates an open visiting policy with no time restrictions.
- Critical Care visiting times are 12-3pm and 4.30-9pm. Additional visiting may be advised at specific times during the stay and will be dependent on the patient's condition. this will be by discussion with the Sister / Charge Nurse. There is a rest break from 3-4.30pm.
